LLC & Legal Setup
Jacque files your LLC — you just send the details

steps done
Step 1Send your LLC details to Jacque
Fill this out once and tap Submit — your details go straight to Jacque, who files the LLC for you through the JXAT LegalZoom account. No paperwork on your end.
Usually the state where you live and where the truck is registered.
Give 3 in case one's taken. Each must end in "LLC" or "L.L.C." Jacque verifies availability before filing.
A one-line description of what the company does. Pre-filled — edit if you'd like.
This is the LLC's owner. Single-member is the default for this setup.
The vehicle you're putting into service.
Leave as-is for a solo LLC, or list each member and their %.
The LLC's principal address — also used as your registered agent address, so it must be a physical street address in your state (not a PO box), where you're reachable during business hours. Your home address is fine.
Registered agent — you. You'll be listed as your own registered agent at the business address above, so your LLC's official state and legal mail comes straight to you. (This is the physical street address requirement noted above.)
Organizer & state filing — handled by JXAT. Jacque is the organizer who submits the formation and pays the state filing fee through LegalZoom. That's just the filing — it gives Jacque no ownership or control of your LLC. You just send the info above.
🔒 Don't put your SSN anywhere in here. Keep sensitive numbers off the form entirely. Your SSN is only needed later for your EIN (Step 3), which you'll enter directly on the IRS site.
Jacque files your LLC via LegalZoom
Once your details arrive, Jacque submits the formation with the state (usually 1–2 business days) and sends your LLC Certificate back here. Then the steps below unlock for you.
-
Get your EIN from the IRS (free, ~15 min)Your LLC's tax ID. Not strictly required for a single-member LLC, but you'll need it to open the business bank account and to keep your SSN off the lease paperwork with Jacque's LLC. The IRS makes you (the member) the "responsible party," so this one's yours — Jacque can screenshare and walk you through it in one sitting.
-
Open a business bank account under the LLCKeep business and personal finances strictly separated — this protects your liability shield. Bring your LLC Certificate + EIN.
-
Pay off any remaining loan balance on the vehicleMost lenders require the vehicle to be lien-free before it can be titled in an LLC name. Confirm with your lender first. (You can start this in parallel — it doesn't wait on the LLC.)
-
Transfer vehicle title to your LLCOnce the loan is paid off, re-title the vehicle in your LLC's name at your state's DMV (Colorado). Bring the existing title, LLC Certificate, and EIN.
-
Update vehicle registration to the LLCAfter title transfer, update the registration. Note: registration in an LLC name may change insurance requirements — confirm with your insurer.
-
Set up mileage tracking (start from day 1)The IRS requires a contemporaneous log. Download Everlance or MileIQ and start logging the day your LLC is formed — before your first business mile.
-
Confirm vehicle added to JXAT fleet insuranceJacque adds the F-150 to the Jacque of All Trades fleet policy as a leased asset. You'll be listed as additional insured. Confirm in writing before the vehicle enters rental service.⚠ Requires signed Operating Agreement + steps above
